ABSTRACT
The rest of the paper is organised into the following main sections. Part two examines vernacular architecture in the three regions of Saudi Arabia and how they responded to the social and physical context of the region; part three examines and analyzes the various vernacular traditions that have been abandoned in modern architecture of Saudi Arabia. Part four examines the recent formal and informal efforts to revive and reinvent Saudi vernacular architectural traditions.
