ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: MCSEM requires several data acquisition stations located at the bottom of the sea to gather weak electromagnetic signals for long-term continuous synchronous observation. During the observation, the station should be under controlled within an extremely low self-noise level, the time synchronization error between the acquisition stations should be very small, and their power consumption should be very low to sustainable work for dozens of days. In order to achieve lowpower goal, guarantee prerequisites for low noise and low drift, we developed the acquisition station hardware which is consisting of on-duty circuit, high efficiency and low noise power management circuit and low power data acquisition circuit, and we also lowered the power consumption of the preamplifiers and the magnetic sensors. After indoor test, land test and marine tests, it is proved that the low-power design specifications can meet the actual requirements, according to the desired purpose.
