ABSTRACT

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) machines are attractive for a variety of applications, such as automotive and aerospace drives, because of their excellent efficiency and high power density. This work has been performed within the European project “Electrical powertrain Health Monitoring for Increased Safety of FEVs” (HEMIS) which aims at developing a Prognostic and Health Monitoring System (PHMS) for increasing safety and reliability and reducing the maintenance costs of FEVs (Sedano et al. 2013, Baraldi et al. 2013a).
