ABSTRACT

There are several definitions of a system ( Nowakowski, 2011; Backlund, 2005). One of them says that each complex object, which can be distinguished in researching reality can be called a system given that it determines integrity created by a set of elementary objects and relations between them (Sienkiewicz, 1983). Another one, runs that a system is an existence displaying its existing by the synergetic cooperation of its elements (Bellinger, 2002). A mathematical complement of the mentioned definition is represented by the following equation:

S = (E, A, R), E = [E1…En], A = [A1…Am], R = [R1…Rk]

1 INTRODUCTION

Logistic system under combat operations is called combat service support and they include: supply, movement and transportation, maintenance, infrastructure and medical support (ALP-4.2(A), 2010). Weapon systems belong to a group of technical objects used in task (random) mode and they require a specific maintenance system, which should be aimed at executing tasks in a specific place and time regardless of circumstances. The properly developed maintenance system can create advantage over an enemy, that is why, the new and diverse solutions should be searched for in order to ensure fighting units availability of weapon systems. Diversification of various solutions and adequate designing of equipment will support logistics units in recovering of weapon systems and can help to create advantage over an enemy by increasing availability of weapon systems.
