ABSTRACT
Since the track faults are unrevealed, track condition data is collected for the one-eighth mile section by inspection methods (GC/RT 5021 2011) (GC/RT 5010 1998). Track faults can be described using track deterioration models. In the literature, deterministic model and stochastic model are used to model track degradation. Deterministic methods focus on the factors related to track quality, these factors can be materials, loads, speed and so on (Zwanenburg 2008) (Westgeest, Dekker, & Fischer 2012) (Sadeghi & Askarinejad 2010). However, track deterioration varies at different time, that is important to be considered in maintenance decision making, so stochastic models are introduced to describe these variations (Meier-Hirmer, Riboulet, Sourget, & Roussignol 2009) (Quiroga & Schnieder 2011).
