ABSTRACT
Usually a fire alarm system has numerous dependencies to other safety and security related systems (e.g. fire extinguishing, intrusion detection, access control and smoke exhaust systems). Due to safety and/or security reasons also non safety and security related systems (e.g. elevator, building control, process control and monitoring system) can be connected to a fire alarm system. This is based on the fact that many seemingly non safety and security related systems can become very relevant during complex emergency situations or scenarios (Nachtigall & Klingsch 2011).
