ABSTRACT
In this article, we examine how the wide-awake approach to hand surgery has allowed us to perform simple tendon transfers with pure local anesthetic and without a tourniquet. The wide-awake approach (also) allows us to adjust tendon transfer tension with active movement to make sure the transfer is not too tight or too loose before the skin is closed.1
