ABSTRACT

In-seam seismic prospecting (ISS) technique is one of the most efficient instruments to predict coal seam faults.

ISS is based on the results of T. Krey’s research (Krey 1962, 1981). He described the mathematical solution for waves transmitted through low-velocity layers (the so called channel waves). T. Krey shows that faults can be detected by seismic reflection (RE) technique.
