The conservation of prehistoric caves in Cantabria, Spain

Palaeolithic cave art is an important and distinctive element of the cultural heritage of Cantabria, Spain. In recent times the administration responsible of cave art con-servation has directed its efforts to the development of a “Cave Art Management Plan”, promoted and conducted by the Cultural Heritage Department of the Directorate General of Culture from Cantabria in order to protect cave art.
