ABSTRACT

Sidehill opencast mining is adopted for the mine, and blast holes are drilled by KQ-150 downhole drill with diameter of about 165 mm, inclination of 90°, hole spacing of 4 m and minimum resistance line of 3 m after drilling. Emulsion explosive is adopted for production blasting under triangle hole layout and hole-by-hole initiation. Due to numerous existing fractured rock masses and relatively dated blasting design method, block size composition after blasting is hard to achieve expected effect. It is an urgent need to search for an economical, practical, simple, feasible and highquality blasting technique suitable for the current mine equipment and technological level to solve the problem of high boulder yield in blasting.
