ABSTRACT

Stability of rock slope is most important to the safety of rock engineering, it is of great significance to understand the status of the slope stability timely and accurately.

Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is a largescale nonlinear dynamic system composed of many neurons, it has strong ability of nonlinear dynamic processing and strong fault-tolerance ability, especially for incomplete or fuzzy information. ANN can learn knowledge from the examples and establish the highly nonlinear relationship between factors, without knowing the exact function relationship between variables. Therefore, it is more and more widely used in the evaluation of slope stability (Xu et al. 2012, Mo et al. 2006). In this paper, based on the ANN theory, nonlinear dynamics model method for prediction of rock slope deformation is established, and the application on site verified that the computed results are in good agreement with the observed data.
