ABSTRACT

Rubbe r-sleeved studs were applied in the composite deck of railway bridges. The characteristics of rubber-sleeved studs were introduced. Finite element models of the bridge using different stud arrangements have been developed. Shear forces of studs and tensile stress of concrete slab under various loads and their combinations were calculated and compared. The results show that after rubber-sleeved studs are used, shear forces transmitted by shear connectors decrease.
