ABSTRACT

In this study, we immersed the concrete impregnated with the silane water-repellent material in salt water, and calculated the apparent diffusion coefficient and surface chloride ion content by using the solution of the diffusion equation based on Fick’s second law of diffusion. As a result, it was obvious that when the high concentration silane water-repellent material was applied, the apparent diffusion coefficient was reduced by more than https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> 70 % https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9780429227196/8b5c0a5d-ddea-4c88-8eea-7152f7afb008/content/eq6094.tif" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/> and the surface chloride ion content was reduced by more than https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> 40 % https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9780429227196/8b5c0a5d-ddea-4c88-8eea-7152f7afb008/content/eq6095.tif" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/> , compared with no applying. Besides, we suggested the chloride ion prediction method for the concrete impregnated with the silane water-repellent material.
