ABSTRACT

Many bridge decks which located in cold region are deteriorated by splaying the de-icing agent and the repeated wheel loading. Many cases of that deterioration have been reported in Japan. The reinforcements in these decks were corroded by salt attack, also the cracks which are along with main reinforcement were occurred by the repeated loading. In this study, the authors tried to predict the structural performance of a bridge deck which are deteriorated by salt attack by using finite element analysis.
