ABSTRACT

This paper presents and discusses the contribution of urban-architectural rehabilitation of prominent building, a Palace of Culture, Youth and Sports (PYCS) in Kosovo in terms of sustainable development of Pristina. A catastrophic event - fire occurred in the building on 2001, stressed the need for a quick repair and rehabilitation of structure damaged by fire. Preventing the vulnerability of buildings due to catastrophic events in this case outlined quick methods of assessment and rehabilitation, followed as well by quick locally repair techniques. Today, monitoring and evaluation analysis should be taken widely, generally considering into account a long-term performance analyses as a real potential to increase sustainable economic, social, environmental and cultural issues, thus sustainable development strategies for Pristina.
