ABSTRACT

Since 1995, seismic observation records have been accumulated by distributing seismic observation networks provided by the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention. In order to examine the possibility of utilizing these databases for the evaluation of the design earthquake ground motion, the database, with regard to both the fundamental earthquakes data and the seismic records was produced experimentally. Four sites where the databases were produced are located in the Tohoku district. The earthquakes referred to in the database occurred not only at the interplate but also inland in recent years, such as the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake and the Iwate Miyagi inland earthquake.
