ABSTRACT

Recently, the deterioration of road bridge decks is the one of most important problem for maintenance in Japan. To maintain the road bridge decks, we must develop the new and sure checking method for decks. The authors picked up the small FWD system as the loading system for impact vibration test. With this system, we can obtain the displacement, the velocity and the acceleration at the falling point and the 4 external points. And the authors will try to set the additional acceleration meter in FWD system and discuss about efficient parameters, layout of acceleration meter or external sensors for displacements and so on. In this paper, the authors will pick up the testing case with the aging road bridge in Iwate prefecture.
