ABSTRACT

This study is intended to improve performance of damage detection of real truss bridges utilizing reproduced coefficients of an autoregressive (AR) model identified from traffic-induced vibration measurements. The Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is used to reproduce the identified AR coefficients of a linear system model from traffic-induced bridge vibration. Accelerations measured from real truss bridges before and after applying damage were used to verify validity of the proposed method. Observations demonstrate that reproducing AR coefficients led to improvement of damage detection although further comprehensive investigations are needed
