ABSTRACT

The Liénard-Wiechert field is the field generated by a charge with arbitrary motion in Minkowski space; the four-potential Ar and its corresponding Faraday tensor Frs have fundamental importance in the electrodynamics of classical charged particles. Thus, the Section 6.1 studies the scalar and vectorial quantities associated with the path of particle, with special attention on retarded distance and the light cone: the world line’s kinematics forms a powerful base for analysis of the electromagnetic field. Besides, the important Fermi’s triad is considered.
