ABSTRACT

For mineral processing wastes; soils, vegetation, human health are the objects of study. Leaf mustard and Welsh onion were used for “Growth test” test-system. Academician V.I. 1 INTRODUCTION

It is known that the development of modern civilization is based on mineral raw materials obtained from the lithosphere. However, the development of gold placers or gold deposits in the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD) contributes to negative situations of technogenic emergencies that inevitably lead to decrease of mining enterprises efficiency under market conditions. Not only biota, but air, soil, water bodies are contaminated with solid, liquid and gaseous wastes, for example, stored in tailings, as well as at the territory of the Placer GoldConcentrating Plant (PGCP). The assessment of their impact on the environment objects was made proceeding from the following: 1) stored wastes are characterized by diverse composition and properties and contain polluting chemical biota-toxic elements; 2) technogenic objects are a real hazard of technogenic pollution with destructed environment waste products; 3) technogenic objects provoke violation of the ecological balance. In connection with this the purpose of the paper is a bioindication assessment of technogenic pollution

methodological basis. Field studies were carried out on the basis of a consistent procedure. The samples were prepared for analysis uniformly and analyzed in Khabarovsk Innovation Analytical Center in Institute of Tectonics and Geophysics of the Far Eastern Branch of Russian Academy of Science using a modern ICP spectrometer. The biological methods were used in the process of research (Pausheva 1989), National Standard (GOST) 12039-82. Bioindication assessment of land cover status was carried out by D.G. Zvyagintsev (1978), S.V. Letunova and V.V. Kovalskiy (1978) methods. A number of indicators were calculated to assess the environmental condition of natural habitats (Chernykh & Sidorenko 2003).
