into the users’ activities. Based on social viewpoints, social and technical issues are interdependent and therefore cannot be separated. Social factors, such as aging, gender, and culture, can affect user’s behavior toward the use of mHealth; on the other hand, characteristics of individual personal attitude and personal philosophy may override these factors. Recognizing effective social factors in mHealth allows mobile health-care providers to understand users’ requirements and improve the design of the new mobile health-care systems. There are many social-related applications of mHealth, including gender, social class, and aged care, which this section will explore. Discussion on social perspective of health and illness provides us clear ground of complexity in this area but also shed light to progress.
