ABSTRACT
With the emergence of new ways of information dissemination, such as blog and SNS, and the rise of cloud computing, data is being accumulated at an unprecedented rate. Academia, industrial world and even government agencies are beginning to focus on big data. In 2008, Nature launched a special issue of “Big Data” [1], Computing Community Consortium published a report about “Big data computing: Creating revolutionary breakthroughs in commerce, science, and society” [2]. Today, big data has drawn increasing attention and the documents of big data research experiencing a dramatic growth, because of which, it is hard for people to grasp the core knowledge, posing difficulties for further study. This paper uses the method of information visualization to figure out the research focuses and frontiers of big data.
