ABSTRACT
Definition 1 Multicast Traffic Class Set (MTCS) C: Multicast traffic can be categorized into m classes C = {c1, ci, cm} according to their QoS requirements, such as bandwidth, delay, packet loss rate. To aggregate multicast states in backbone by using extended PIM-SSM [Holbrook 2006], a multicast class is needed to be mapped to a preserved aggregated multicast address. We suggest using 224.0.2.0-224.0.2.255 as the preserved aggregated multicast address. The last 8 bits of the preserved address identify the multicast class and the extended PIM-SSM is assumed to be able to run on the addresses.
