Influence of fit tolerance between tenon width and mortise length on joint performance of oval-tenon manufactured by Alnus formosana wood

Following the common size of the solid wood furniture frame part, the mortise specimen size was designed as 30 mm × 50 mm × 220 mm (thickness × width × length) and the tenon specimen size as 30 mm × 50 mm × 240 mm (thickness × width × length). In the center of the mortise specimen length direction and thickness direction, the mortise as 12 mm × 35 mm × 25 mm (width × length × depth) were processed on the specimen side, as shown in Figure 1. There were three chamfering shapes on the surface of ovaltenon processed for improving the friction ability and increasing adhesive capacity.
