ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: This paper describes our project: “The Smoke in the Chimney-An Intelligent Sensor-based TeleCare Solution for Homes” (TeleCalmPlus), that is currently being implemented in the Faculty of Informatics in cooperation with partner universities from Taiwan, Hungary and Czech Republic. It is one of two projects which were selected for funding by International Visegrad Fund and National Scientific Council of Taiwan from all submitted proposals reacting on call in year 2012. The basic idea is to design a remote monitoring system for assisting the care of senior citizens utilizing cutting edge sensor networks technologies at their home, a cloud infrastructure for intense data-processing tasks, and a simple app for Android smartphones.
