ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Much of the twentieth century’s built heritage is made of mortar and concrete of Portland cement, in some cases flaws are beginning to appear in these cultural assets. The objective of this study is to evaluate if two commercial consolidant treatments; nanosilica (MEYCO MS 685; BASF) and nanolime (Nanorestore, CTS), apt for the conservation the stone heritage and compatible with Portland cement from a compositional point of view, could be equally effective in cementitious heritage.
