ABSTRACT

Anthony “Rex” Gabbert (Judge Gabbert) is an appellate judge working in the Western District of the State of Missouri. He has held this position since being appointed by the governor in April 2013. He was appointed to the appellate court aer serving 20 years in a number of circuit judge positions in the State of Missouri. Currently, his primary responsibility is to address appeals from the circuit courts with other appellate judges from his district. Judge Gabbert started his law career as a prosecuting attorney and had his own private practice before he accepted a position as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Polk County, serving in this capacity for nearly 5 years prior to selection as an associate circuit judge. He returned to private practice for 3 years prior to selection as an associate circuit judge. He served as an associate circuit judge for 10 years prior to accepting a position as a circuit judge. In 2004, he was selected as a circuit judge for Clay County, Missouri. He held this position until he was appointed to his current position as appellate court judge of the Western District.
