ABSTRACT
Semiochemicals (Greek: semeon, a signal) mediate interaction between organisms. Thus, these chemicals are controlling insect behavior and are also known as behavioral control pesticides. Semiochemicals are of four categories: pheromones, allomones, kairomones, and allomones-kairomones. The following sections describe these substances in relation to insect pest control.
