ABSTRACT

Advances in genomics and epigenomics are revolutionizing understanding of mechanisms underlying brain disorders [1,2,3,4]. Considerable evidence suggests that many neuropsychiatric, neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders are linked with multiple complex interactions between genetic factors and environmental variables, such as nutrition [5,6,7]. Indeed, numerous diets, foods and nutrients are implicated in optimal and sub-optimal brain health throughout the life-cycle [8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16].
