ABSTRACT

Agricultural drought is commonly defined as the lack of sufficient soil water availability to maintain adequate crop growth and pasture productivity (Crow et al. 2012). Soil moisture is one of most effective quantitative indicators of agricultural drought, which plays a significant role in linking agricultural drought and vegetation health (Sridhar et al. 2008). Many studies show that the approaches of soil moisture estimation mainly include field measurement, model simulation, satellite retrieval and data assimilation, etc. Model simulation is one of important tools to obtain soil moisture.
