ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: In this contribution the influences of the main model parameters of eddy current problems are investigated. The sensitivity of distance, conductivity and permeability on the inductance are computed and analyzed for a frequency range from 40 Hz to 100 MHz. The model is based on a core-less coil with 10 turns, a diameter of 11 mm and a target with properties similar to steel. The aim of this investigation is to identify sensitivity patterns and analyze their response to large variations of the model parameters for the purpose of hardware design and computing the inverse problem. The results represent the general characteristics of core-less eddy current sensors at large variations of those parameters and are discussed in a general way.
