1 INTRODUCTION

With ships become large-scale, the shafting length in water extends and friction power consumption increases accordingly. It affects the transmission efficiency of ship shafting, so study friction power consumption of shaft in water is of theoretical significance and engineering application value for the improving of both energy efficiency and efficiency of ship propulsion.
