ABSTRACT

There are enormous natural gas hydrates reserving in subsurface of shallow water sediments along the Arctic coastline, permafrost regions of the earth and oceanic sediments, it has been showed that 1016 kg of methane carbon or 20 × 1015 m3 of methane gas are trapped in hydrates which is twice the reserves of carbon discovered conventional fossil energy of the world. It is expected to be an alternative energy resource with promising prospect in the 21th century[1].
