ABSTRACT

Based on the mechanism of SAGD development, After injected into formation, the high temperature steam gradually occupies the oil volume and forms high temperature steam chamber in the formation. In the conduct of SAGD in Du84 area, Steam chamber pressure is generally about 3.5 MPa and the counter-temperature is above 240°C. Due to the formation heat dissipation, there is a greater gap of temperature between Steam temperature and the surrounding rock. Through the temperature test, the steam affection to oil reservoir, development of high temperature steam chamber can be monitor. Consequently the observation well temperature monitoring system realizes the function of a single point of steam cavity monitoring by making use of the observation well temperature test.
