ABSTRACT

The bottom line does not separate good technologists from great technologists. Margaret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small, thoughtful group of committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”* At this point in history more than in any other, small and committed groups of people have power. Technology is the great equalizer and does not care if its user comes from humble beginnings or wealth. Unfortunately, the problems solved by technology increasingly cater to those with money and access. ere’s a place in this world for an easier way to get a cab or to gure out if a restaurant is good. However, there’s also a place in the world for technology that serves those less fortunate.
