ABSTRACT

In the early 2000s studies focused on the prediction of maximum forces acting on the containers (Nakamura et al. 2001), using container stack linear numerical models and long term acceleration distribution. Others investigated the influence of parametric roll on the forces acting on the containers carried on deck (Frances et al. 2003) where the forces due to parametric roll were evaluated using the method proposed by the classification society and the accelerations were both calculated and derived from test model.
