ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: An Upward-Pushing Flow Integrated Oxidation Ditch (UPFIOD) was used to treat sewage water in Tianjin, China. The technological principle and flow pattern of UPFIOD were introduced. The chemical oxygen demand(COD), NH3-N and total phosphorus(TP) of the effluent from the UPFIOD experimental model were monitored and analyzed. The result showed that COD, NH3-N and TP were less than of 50 mg/L, 5 mg/L and 1 mg/L, respectively, and the effluent quality complied with Level 1 of Pollutants Discharge Standard for Municipal Wastewater (GB 189182002) of China. In the meantime, it showed a good economic performance through an economic evaluation for this new kind of oxidation ditch.
