ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Water temperature is an important factor in science study on lake and reservoir. The traditional water temperature models only place solar radiation to the surface and ignore the process of temperature rising on water body absorbing solar radiation at different depth. Moreover the water bottom adopts the thermal adiabatic boundary condition, thus contains obvious errors. In order to overcome the inefficiency of the traditional model, we proposed a three-dimensional water temperature model for shallow lakes. Relaxing the assumption that solar radiation is only set on the surface, put the solar radiation into the convection-diffusion function. A modified heat balance function is involved of describing the heat exchange process between water body and sediment bed. The model introduces operator splitting method to solve the governing equations. Lake Dong is chosen as the research subject to simulate the water temperature, and explore the monthly temperature changing process.
