ABSTRACT

Academic journal editors wear many hats: manuscript screener, review process manager, board developer, promoter, strategist, and coach, among others. Of all the hats I wore as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Information Technology Case and Application Research (JITCAR), the one that fit the best was my coaching hat. My team consisted of JITCAR’s editorial board, our reviewers, and our authors. Our objective: to produce the best journal possible. As a coach, I focused on being a motivator, coordinator, and developer of talent. This chapter reviews and recounts the benefits, pleasures, and rewards associated with this editorial role.
