ABSTRACT
Similar to the operational phase, the maintenance phase applicable to computer systems covers the operational life period (refer to Figure 2.1).
The objective of the maintenance phase is to modify an existing computer system while preserving its integrity. This process includes, as applicable, the migration or retirement of each relevant system component. The process ends with the retirement of the computer system, including interfaces, infrastructure, and, as applicable, electronic records.
