ABSTRACT

Anoplasty is defined as a reconstructive procedure on the anus. Generally, it is a local procedure used to replace defective, poor or damaged tissues with nearby perianal skin and underlying fatty tissue. Indications for anoplasty include anal stenosis, chronic anal fissure, fistulae which are resistant or difficult to treat by more conventional methods, and occasionally to replace skin excised for anal neoplasia, either anal intraepithelial neoplasia (AIN) or after local excision of a small anal cancer.
