The consideration of environmental factors—an empirical study of students’ oral English output from school of life science and technology

A total of 305 second-year students of five English learning classes from school of life science and technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology participated in the study. All the subjects, who enrolled in college in the year 2012, had studied English formally for six years in junior and senior high school and one year in college. The subjects ranged in age from 17 to 20. The following table shows the number of the students of various departments.
