Regional dynamic equivalent model is shown in Figure 1, that is, a single generator. Since the external system is connected through a long interconnection line with the internal system, so the external system can be considered homology when

1 INTRODUCTION

In order to take advantage of water resources, many small and medium hydropower stations have established in abundant water resources regions recently. If the region contains a large number of small and medium hydropower stations, the dynamic performance of the power system must be affected by the hydropower generator group. It’s difficult to establish the detailed model that contains each generating unit when power system with centralized small and medium hydropower generator group is analyzed. At present, the common practice is to analyze the equivalent system after dynamic equivalence. There are significant limitations when using traditional homology method or modal method to build the equivalent model because the structure and parameters of the hydropower generator group must be known. Therefore, it’s significant to research the dynamic equivalent method based on estimate equivalent method while the structure and parameters of the hydropower generator group are unknown.
