ABSTRACT
In this paper, the arc fault detection method based on the arc resistance model is proposed. In the second section, the arc model based on arc resistance is introduced and the Early Short Circuit Detection (ESCD) method (F. Du 2014) is applied to detect the arc fault as soon as possible. In the third part, the moving average method is taken advantage to process the calculated arc resistance results. In the fourth part, the evaluation results based on the practical test are introduced. In the end, the summary and the further work are concluded.
