ABSTRACT

Orthogonal magnetization reactors can be used for high-voltage transmission shunt reactors to adjust the terminal reactive power, or it can be used as the high-pressure filter on the primary side of the adjustable inductor trial. Experiment with orthogonal magnetization reactor consists of a semi iron core cylinder and outer surrounded iron yoke. Two coils wind on the semi iron core perpendicular with each other: 300-turn coil winds around center as the AC working winding, 150-turn coil winds inside and outside as the DC bias winding. By adjusting the DC bias wingding’s current to change iron core tensor permeability, the AC working winding inductance changes, the continuously adjustable inductor can be obtained.
