ABSTRACT
Shanghai Power Grid start the cooperation with Wuhan Nanrui lightning protection department since 1996, and have built a new generation of lightning detection and location system until 2013, which can cover the whole region of Shanghai, with 12 lightning detection stations (including 4 digital), new and old server running “1 + 1” mode, and sharing flash data with four provinces of eastern China (Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Fujian). This paper will provide detailed description of the new generation of digital detector station and its locating principle, lightning monitoring network of Shanghai Power Grid, the role of new generation LDLS of Shanghai Power Grid, and give a prospect on future work to the further application based on LDLS.
