ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: A five wavelength HPLC integration fingerprint for analyzing the purified sample of Naodesheng (pNDS) is described in the paper. On the basis of the results of the ultraviolet full wavelength scanning, data of five dierent wavelengths, i.e. 203nm, 250nm, 321nm, 350nm and 403nm, were exported in cdf format from Shimadzu LCsolution (Japan). HPLC fingerprint integration was set up by MATLAB software. The five-wavelength HPLC integration fingerprint of pNDS was established and 20 common characteristic peaks were acquired by taking the peak 5 of pueerarin as the reference peak (S). According to retention times and UV spectra of reference compounds, another four peaks were identified as HSYA, ferulic acid, vitexin-2’’-O-rhamnoside and notoginsenoside R1, respectively. The integrated fingerprint gives the best abundance and the maximum number of compounds within one chromatographic window. It represents the characteristics of chemical constitutions of the complex medicine objectively, and is convenient for popularization and application. This method provides a theoretical basis for further research of Naodesheng as well as a reference for studies on the material foundation of Chinese medicine.
