ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The extracts of nux prinsepiae uniflorae growing in the Qingyang region, Gansu province of China, were isolated by the solvent-extraction method and analyzed by gas chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. A total of 60 components were identified in the extracts, representing 91.92 % of the total integrated chromatographic peaks. The major compounds were found to be β-Bourbonene (13.24 %), β-Caryophyllene (11.94 %), τ-Muurolol (9.66 %), α-Copaene (8.87 %), Palmitic acid (4.25 %), Margaric acid (3.59 %). The results indicated that the levels of total sesquiterpene fraction (61.24 %) were more than 6.9 times higher than those of monoterpene components (8.87 %).
