ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is the second largest neurodegeneration disease in the world, and the etiology of PD is unclear now. Enormous studies focus on the neuroinflammation and innate and adaptive immune system in the pathology of PD. In this study, we used endogenous neurotoxin 1(R),2(N)-dimethyl-6,7-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-(N-methylsalsolinol, NMSal)-treated cocultures of dopaminergic neuron SH-SY5Y cells and astrocytomas U87 cells for 24 hours and then reused this 24-hours-old medium to culture human monocyte THP1 cells for another 24 hours and studied the role of this conditioned medium on THP1 cells. We found 24-hours-old medium-protected monocyte THP1 cells from NMSal-mediated apoptosis in an astrocyte U87 cells-dependent manner.
