ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Murracarpin, a natural occurring couamrin, exhibits anti-inflammatory activity. By using Discovery Studio software, the 3D model of 5-LOX was successfully homology built. Molecular docking researches found that murracarpin positioned in the active site of COX-2 and interacted with Val-523 in a strong hydrogen bond, interacted with 5-LOX in two hydrogen bonds. In carrageenin pleurisy model, murracarpin could eectively inhibit the elevation of IL-1β, TNF-α, and PGE2. These biological eorts might underline the anti-inflammatory mechanism of murracarpin, which could be a good lead compound for further research.
